Responsibilities:
- Perform all aspects of civil engineering site design including processing site surveys; preparation of grading and drainage plans; preparation of site layout plans; preparation of water and sewer utility plans; preparation of Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP); preparation of project specific notes and details
- Prepare technical design calculations and reports
- Prepare regulatory agency permit application packages
- Prepare quantity takeoffs and engineer’s opinion of probably costs
- Prepare material and lead client and regulatory agency meetings
- Conduct construction site visits to monitor construction progress
- Perform QA/QC reviews for plans and calculation reports prepared by other staff
- Coordinate with outside consultants including surveyors, architects, landscape architects, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing engineers.
- Coordinate directly with contractors to resolve construction related issues.
- Coordinate directly with clients regarding project budgets, schedules, and required project deliverables.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university OR Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering Technology (or similar program nature) plus 2 years job-related experience. (required)
- Engineer-in-Training certification (required)
- Profession Engineer license or taken the Professional Engineer exam (preferred)
- 4+ years of direct experience performing civil engineering design and construction tasks with a civil engineering design firm
- Basic knowledge of the project development process including proposal preparation, project budgeting, scheduling, assignment of tasks.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D (required)
- Knowledge of other design software including but not limited to ICPR, Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis, Autodesk Storm Sewers Extension, ArcGIS, WaterCAD, EPANET, SEDCAD (required)
- Excellent written and verbal professional and technical communication skills (required)
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (required)
